RIFTCONDUIT 2.0 PRIVACY POLICY AND INSTALLATION INFORMATION AI Creations Now Software Development Effective date: October 6, 2026 Website: https://aicreatenow.com/ WHAT RIFTCONDUIT DOES RiftConduit is a Windows application for administering an SFTP connection to your computer. It installs to the 64-bit Program Files\RiftConduit directory, creates a Desktop shortcut and Start menu entries, and registers an uninstaller in Windows Settings. Administrative permission is required to operate it. INSTALLATION AND REQUIRED WINDOWS COMPONENTS The same installer supports the normal visual wizard and unattended installation with the documented silent switches. Both modes install the complete RiftConduit application and local help files and prepare missing Microsoft inbox OpenSSH from matching x64 Features on Demand CABs included in the installer. Setup uses that local source without a component download or Windows Update/WSUS fallback. It does not start an SFTP listener, create a Windows account, start the trial, or contact the licensing server. If a previous edition is installed in another folder, Setup asks you to uninstall it first through Windows Settings. That uninstall stops its listener and retains its connection data and accounts. Silent setup does not open the application or a browser. Windows may request administrator consent. Microsoft .NET Framework 4.7.2 or newer must already be installed. Setup checks this prerequisite and stops if it is missing; it does not download a runtime. OpenSSH preparation uses Windows servicing during setup. The packaged source must match the Windows release and architecture; absent, damaged or mismatched payloads stop preparation. Existing OpenSSH is reused. Microsoft component signatures are retained; the publisher does not re-sign these Windows files. If Windows servicing requires a restart, setup reports it and saves recovery information without forcing a restart. Restart Windows yourself, then rerun the installer to finish. During feature installation, preexisting OpenSSH services and firewall rules are preserved. If Windows adds a default sshd service or firewall rules, RiftConduit stops/disables only the newly added default service and removes only rules its installation journal proves were newly added. It does not open the application's SFTP access during setup. When you explicitly choose Turn On, RiftConduit verifies the prerequisites and configures/starts its own listener and rules. Turn On does not run DISM, install Windows components or download them. If OpenSSH is later removed or damaged, repair the signed installation before using Turn On. TRIAL, LICENSE ACTIVATION AND PURCHASE The first application launch offers an explicit two-day trial or immediate license activation. The trial is 48 elapsed hours from the successful Start Trial action; installation alone does not start it. The displayed paid offer is $7.99 for a lifetime license, lifetime technical support and lifetime upgrades. Choosing the purchase link opens this Stripe checkout in your default browser: https://buy.stripe.com/6oU7sN0JB5l66c40Fw5kk0d Stripe handles payment under its own terms and privacy policy. RiftConduit does not collect or store payment-card information. A purchase does not itself save registration: the customer must enter the supplied key and activate it. Only an explicit activation sends a licensing request to: https://licensing.aicreatenow.com/api/v1/activate.asp The HTTPS form includes the entered ten-digit key, a product-scoped SHA-256 computer identifier derived from SMBIOS UUID or Windows MachineGuid, an installation identifier, the Windows computer name and client version. The licensing server also receives the network source address as part of the HTTPS connection. These details are used to validate the key, administer its computer binding and approve activation. The client does not download the server's license database. No SFTP account password or drive contents are included. Successful activation saves a machine-protected registration record beneath: C:\Program Files\RiftConduit\LicenseState\registration.dat The standard x64 Program Files folder is used if Windows is on another drive. The record holds a hash of the license key, computer/installation identifiers, activation timestamp and integrity proof; it does not retain the original license key. Windows machine-scope DPAPI and folder permissions protect it. Registered operation checks this local record without routine server calls, subscription checks or later server-revocation polling. Explicit reactivation requires a new request, for example after uninstall/reinstall or damaged state. The trial start and last-observed-clock/expiry history are stored in the 64-bit machine registry at: HKLM\SOFTWARE\AI Creations Now Software Development\RiftConduit\Licensing Both records use machine-scope DPAPI and protected registry permissions. The original trial deadline and an observed expiry survive normal uninstall and reinstall so reinstalling does not grant another trial. Clock rollback beyond the supported tolerance can expire a trial. Registration is removed by uninstall; reinstallation requires entering the key and obtaining server approval again. Keep your license key securely. Local protection is not a guarantee against an administrator deliberately replacing software or protected machine state. Activation records on the licensing server support license validation and computer binding. This application does not send periodic usage reports or implement automatic server-record deletion. For questions about retained activation records or a data request, contact AI Creations Now Software Development at [email protected]. No server retention period or automatic erasure schedule is represented by this client software. LOCAL LICENSE GUARD When Turn On is requested, RiftConduit configures its own local service named AICNRiftConduitLicenseGuard. It runs the same signed installed RiftConduit.exe with --license-service under LocalSystem. The owned SFTP service depends on it. The guard checks local license/trial state about every five seconds while it is running, including when the GUI is closed; it does not poll the licensing server. At trial expiry or failed local verification it stops the owned SFTP listener and sessions and removes this product's own firewall rules. It does not remove accounts or change unrelated listeners and firewall rules. A stopped or powered-off computer is checked again when the guard starts. Expired activation screens appear through the interactive app, not as a service-created desktop UI. The guard is removed when RiftConduit is successfully uninstalled. NETWORK ACCESS AND FIREWALL RULES Turn On configures RiftConduit's own SFTP-only OpenSSH service on TCP port 22. The service runs under the Windows LocalSystem account and uses per-user Windows authentication for file access; this service does not offer a shell. It adds its own allow rule for the IPv4 address you enter and, when checked, an allow rule for 100.64.0.0/10, the Tailscale IPv4 range. The Tailscale option is checked by default. RiftConduit does not install Tailscale, discover adapters, or configure an IPv6 allowance. Tailscale connectivity must already be set up separately if you intend to connect through Tailscale. These are additional Windows Firewall rules. Existing rules and administrative policies remain in force: another allow rule can admit other source addresses, and an existing block rule can prevent a connection. RiftConduit does not reset the firewall or restrict unrelated network traffic. The administrator remains responsible for the computer's overall access policy and any router forwarding. SFTP encrypts the file-transfer connection; connected users can access files according to their Windows account permissions. The starting folder is C:\. ACCOUNTS AND CREDENTIALS Account creation occurs only when you explicitly request it. The created local Windows account belongs to the Administrators group and RiftConduit's local access group. Administrator membership grants broad access to the computer. Windows manages account authentication and password storage. RiftConduit uses the existing account and group membership when you reopen the application; turning the connection on and off does not repeatedly create new accounts. When an account is created, RiftConduit writes the requested connection details, including that account's username and plaintext password, to a text file on the creating user's Desktop. File permissions restrict that file to the creating user and SYSTEM. Anyone who can read that file has the credentials. Store it securely or delete it when it is no longer needed. Desktop folder synchronization or backup software that you configure can copy this plaintext credential file to another location or service. RiftConduit does not copy the password into its saved IP settings or recovery journal. This credentials file stays brief: connection details, credentials, host-key fingerprint and essential reminders. A separate text file on the same Desktop contains general login steps and links to recommended SFTP file browsers and remote-drive applications. Its contents do not include the customer's password, selected IP address or connection details. Both Desktop files use private file permissions for the creating user and SYSTEM. Their filenames include the account name so the matching files are identifiable. LOCAL CONNECTION GUIDE The existing-account button and account-created hyperlink open the installed Help\Connect.html page in your default browser. This is a generic, local guide with bundled artwork, setup instructions, and two compact tables of client website links: file browsers and remote-drive applications. It contains no customer account name, password, selected IP address, or personalized URL. Opening it does not upload credentials or report usage to the publisher. The guide contains no telemetry, trackers, or externally loaded page assets. You can choose links to third-party client websites from that guide. Opening one of those links contacts that vendor's website, where its own privacy terms, downloads, pricing and account requirements apply. RiftConduit does not install these client programs. The source/installer package also includes a plain-text copy of the general guide, without customer credentials. LOCAL DATA AND LOGS Settings and operational records are stored locally under: %ProgramData%\AICN-RiftConduit On a computer with retained data from the previous edition, RiftConduit reuses that existing protected folder, host keys, account group and service identity instead. Earlier internal identifiers may be retained solely to keep existing connection records usable. Host keys and accounts are not moved or recreated. If both the earlier and current data folders exist, the application reports a conflict and requires resolution before continuing; neither data set is merged or overwritten. The selected data folder can contain the IPv4 address, Tailscale checkbox setting, recovery state, OpenSSH configuration and host keys, installer/component logs, and SFTP service logs. Logs can include local paths, account names, addresses, errors, and connection information. Folder permissions restrict access to Administrators and SYSTEM. The folder is persistent application data, not a temporary installation folder. The installed application does not include advertising, analytics, or a product telemetry upload service. If OpenSSH installation requires a Windows restart, RiftConduit records recovery information in the protected openssh-restart.bin file in that ProgramData folder and uses a volatile boot-session registry marker under: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\AI Creations Now RiftConduit Boot Session An installation retaining earlier connection records also retains its matching boot-session marker location. The volatile marker ends with the Windows boot session. Together, these records require an actual restart before SFTP activation resumes and preserve which changes came from this Windows component installation. They do not create or modify another Windows account. OUTSIDE SERVICES RiftConduit's file connection is between your SFTP client and this computer. The installer's OpenSSH servicing is restricted to its local feature source. Windows signature/certificate validation can contact Microsoft or certificate infrastructure; Windows and separately managed updates have their own behavior. If you separately use Tailscale, RaiDrive, WinSCP, or another service/client, its own network behavior and privacy terms apply. RiftConduit does not send your drive contents or account password to AI Creations Now Software Development. EXIT, TURN OFF AND UNINSTALL Exit Application and the window's close button close the GUI. They leave an active SFTP listener and its connections running while the license or trial permits access. The local guard continues enforcing trial expiry after the GUI closes. Reopen the Desktop shortcut and choose Turn Off when you want to stop access yourself. Turn Off stops RiftConduit's owned SFTP listener/sessions and removes its own firewall rules. It retains installed Windows components, saved settings, host keys, and Windows accounts. The preexisting Windows sshd service and unrelated firewall rules are not removed or reconfigured by this action. Uninstall first performs RiftConduit's shutdown and owned-rule cleanup. If that cleanup fails, removal stops so the application remains available for recovery. After successful cleanup, Uninstall removes the license guard service, installed registration record, application files and shortcuts. Machine trial start and clock/expiry history remain to prevent a fresh trial after reinstallation. It retains the selected protected data folder, Windows accounts/groups, both Desktop text files, and Microsoft OpenSSH Server. The owned Windows service is also retained in the disabled state; it uses the retained Windows OpenSSH binaries and saved configuration. Fresh installations use AICNRiftConduitSFTP; an installation with earlier connection records retains its earlier identity. Retaining shared components avoids breaking another application that uses them. OpenSSH is a Windows capability and can be managed separately using Windows Optional Features or Windows servicing; it may not appear as a normal installed app. CODE SIGNING The publisher build process signs the application and generated uninstaller with the configured Microsoft Azure signing account. The final installer is signed by the publisher separately before distribution. Signing identifies the publisher and protects signed-file integrity. Windows reputation, SmartScreen, Smart App Control, and organizational policies make their own trust decisions; a digital signature cannot guarantee that every device will permit execution.
